It was good to team up again with Kim Christensen and Peter Jacobsen after taking the Bronze Medal in the Melges 24 World Championship held in San Fransisco last year. This time we were joined by Mads Holmer with me once again calling tactics. It was a 4 day event with 29 entries.
The first day was very windy causing lots of gear failure and a few broken masts. We were happy to take a 2nd and a 3rd with no gear failure.
Day 2 the Race Officer deemed the conditions too extreme and all racing was called off.
Day 3 continued the windy theme with 25knots which we found to our liking, taking a 2nd, 1st and 2nd.
The final day dawned with a much lighter and shifty 6 - 8 knots. After a comfortable win in Race 6, Race 7 was started in a dying breeze with most boats struggling to cross the finish line which led to the Race Officer cancelling the last scheduled race.
We were very pleased to achieve another podium finish with a 2nd overall narrowly losing by only 3 points to top Italian sailor Riccardo Simoneschi.
